favourite wrestlemania match-ups this year

Undertaker vs. CM Punk

This is interesting, but i'm somewhat scared.....CM Punk can be like Roddy Piper & change the Undertaker's gameplan, but this is CM Punk, no matter how many times i think Punk would get fired, he never does, every single thing he's done is - in my eye - an offense...and i just wanna hear Mr McMahon growl those two little words in his ear. though this is the new WWE so punk'll win & gain an even bigger ego - though my money's on 'Taker

Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar (No Holds Barred with Triple H's career on the line)

YESS!!!!!  finally a great match, pity the WWE don't do this more often with Jerry Lawler & Wade Barrett...just likke the old days

Mark Henry vs. Ryback
WWE .Still playing on Mark Henry the heel, i just wish he'd go carefully around people, i like him though, however Ryback is slightly Hogan-Goldberg predictable, my money's on Henry

The Shield vs. Randy Orton, Sheamus, Big Show

.Great Vs Great, Wade Barrett should replace Orton for one big thugfest...these are the fighters of the WWE

Do we really need people telling us what is & what isn't a fictional show? Is the current WWE entertainment status, ruining our creative imagination?

when i asked about the classics like Piper, Lawler, & newbies like Barrett , he said....
I think the smart way to look at this is to separate what men did at one point in their life and what they did/do once they arrived in pro wrestling. Two different careers. Pro wrestling has always been entertainment based."

when i asked about others refering to wrestling as a sport he said....... it's all done in fun, end of story,

Sport, weather it is football/soccer, Boxing, Rugby, anything is all entertainment, just as wrestling, this is why we attend shows & events & shout our lungs out till we have no voice left, it's entertaining, so in that respect Jim Ross is right, however the , seems to be something of a serious man, once he was the goold ole jr, sitting next to king yelling ""STONE COLD, STONE COLD", has as of late become Grinch of the WWE, telling us all WWE is fictional, WWE is just an entertainment show.

JR, where is the emotion, the Kayfabe, the imagination, the hype, to some degree, we all believe in the hype, we all belive in that fictional character that we grew up with, most of us watch tv, soap operas to get away from reality, no one will ever admit that it's not real, because it takes away our creative systems, it takes away who we are, if everythig is real, what do we thrive on that makes us escape the normality, why do so many of us believe in He-Man, Batman & Superman, what do artists & children alike thrive on. what makes us daydream or wish we could be someone? This is what fiction is & i for one don't want to be eminded of that the WWE is not real nor do i want to know that it is a show, i just turn on the tv & chant "GO WADE GO" or take these wrestling superstars to heart, like a young child with a cuddly toy or an artist with a wooden mannequin or cartoon character.

With WWE saying join in the conversation on twitter, i tried but don't like to too much because it's mylittle world that when i joined twitter specifically for WWE, i hoped thst i'd sgare my little world with wrestling fans & WWE crew, so far it'a few fans i have connected with & delighted we share a a particular favorite wrestling superstar, but who was once named Good Ole JR has become the strictly serious grinch of Wrestling, if i am wrong, then we does he say these things, can we just enjoy the hype? can JR enjoy the hype and drive in the fictional lane just for the fans who still believe in Kayfabe.

I understand the product but, i honestly thought it would be a young-un like Josh Matthews that would blow the Kayfabe to pieces, as Jim Ross as been with the WWE/WCW/southern territory wrestling company that seemed like for all infinity & beyond, i'd thought he had too much history & experience to come out & say, WWE's just a show.

I am somewhat greatful to JR though, he made me see that English football is not a sport & a soft-spoken, mild-mannered poster-boy David Beckham is no sports star, he's just an entertainer as John Cena is,

disagree? look at our culture & see Jim Ross, his views are very similar to the way we conduct our so-called sporting nation

WWE future interest

FINALLY the WWE is making sense to a fan like me,  before you had jeff, Jerry & Roddy, then it dipped at the first sign of the PG era, now we have Brock, Wade, Jerry (hopefully soon as he's allowed to) & last but not least The Shield, i'd been a fan of Dean Ambrose from NXT days & i love him, powerful no nonsense & hits hard & double that with The Shield, & you've got wrestling gold - i do hope that WWE will continue this level of fighting entertainment within it's company for future generations to come.

Back in the late 80's while on holiday to visit my late great-grandmother, me & my brother would talk wwf all the time or playfight a little -a swift elbow to the side of the ribs while sitting like little angels on her couch, when she heard that we were wrestling fans she told us stories of British wrestling greats like Giant Haystacks & Big Daddy, both were main event royalty, & i was mesmerized by the passion, for an 8 yr old it's the best thing any grown up's ever talked about.

Back then all tv comantary & promoters & fans referred to wrestling as a sport & it became my sport, whilst the rest of the kiddies were soccer freaks, my brother eventually quit wrestling & became another soccer freak when wcw went under, but i remained true to wrestling, it still is my true sport.
This is the problem i have with the current WWE & Jim Ross, since WWE went public about wrestling being Entertainment, i no longer have a sport to follow, Argent's 'Losing Hold' playing louder & louder in the invisible background as i get older.

CM Punk, Primo & Epico, The Miz maybe entertaining but they all bore me. John Cena's OK & entertains the youth of today. Though Heath Slater's take on the current RockStar status of the WWE has me cringing with disgust, my hopes were that Chris Jeric,ho would bring his RockStar status to WWE but that's never happened since wcw Y2J  van halen style wild days. So it seems only Jerry Lawler, Jeff Jarrett & Honky Tonk Man (yes even i'm suprised i said his name!!!) that have ever pulled of the entertainment package. The likes of Daniel Bryan & Fandango are an amusement to me because i can put them to music references, just like Goldust used movie references to entertain me as a kid.

Jim Ross comes across more & more as trying to be hip, down with the kiddies. I grew up watching JR in the early 90's & that's how i will always remember him, i'd dreamt of meeting him & talk ZZ Top asiide from WWE, but as they say about meeting your idols, they doesn't always turn out as you expect, & as he's a grandpa nowadays, i would also expect some good ole wrestling stories from the past from him & to my delight that's the one thing you do get from him on his blog.

Jerry Lawler continues my interest because he's different, he's still listening to classic gold & singing the Beatles while maintaining a youthful current outlook that's neither naff or hip, just an enjoyment to watch for any age group, one thing i have learnt from The King is to appreciate country music, actually it was someone on American Idol who said country music is taking over Rock n Roll, which scared the life out of me, so i looked to Jerry Lawler & Jeff Jarrett & lately Paul Bearer for inspiration into the world of Country, otherwise it's just new singer-songwriter lad James Arthur & Adele that have caught my attention, i'd love to see them on WWE Raw one day giving Heath Slater a jolly good singing lesson.

Enjoy today because tomorrow isn't promised

Ofcom interference, WWE & the English

something on wwe.com really bugged me the other day....

Daniel Bryan has boldly proclaimed himself the "King of Beards."But could there be a new bristly contender for the WWE Tag Team Champion's throne?Major League Baseball star Josh Reddick has accepted the submission specialist's challenge over Twitter to a "beard-off," in which fans will vote on which athlete has the best beard and the loser will have to shave off their long whiskers at the end of the year."Two men, two beards and there can only be one winner," Bryan briefed WWE.com about the impromptu challenge. "I assure you, it will be The Dazzler!"Will this challenge spell doom for Bryan's signature beard, one that he's impressively been growing out since Money in the Bank 2011? Or will Reddick's facefro ultimately have a date with the razor? Regardless of the outcome, the true winner here might be the followers of both these hirsute stars."I think this will be a lot of fun for both the WWE Universe and for the fans of Major League Baseball," Bryan told WWE.com. "Two stars in each sport going one-on-one in a beard-off."

When i asked Jim Ross on his Q&A  about the current stature of WWE wrestling, naming such people as Jerry Lawler, Wade barrett, William Regal & Roddy Piper, the reply was: -

I think the smart way to look at this is to separate what men did at one point in their life and what they did/do once they arrived in pro wrestling. Two different careers. Pro wrestling has always been entertainment based."

Having accepted this, & looking to who sells the best to me (Jerry Lawler, Wade Barrett, Brock Lesnar, Sheamuus), i felt at ease that my long love of professional wrestling is all but name the same badass as it always been, with the territories gone WWE'S got that whole combination of everything under one roof.

So if this business has menifested into entertainment, why would you get a guy like Daniel Bryan comparing baseball to professional wrestling? when it's no longer the case anymore.

On the Subject of Sport & Entertainment, being English & seeing JR's views, made me think of our own & what us brits do. For one David Beckham is no sports star, his name is on purfume & underwear & shaving foam, etc, he changes his appearance every few months he married a former pop star & has embraced the celeb lifestyle - not really sportsman like qualities of the rugby players or the hard soccer players like Razor Ruddock, who only does the odd celeb thing once inn a while, but still remains the bad boy of soccer - this to me is what a sportsman is soccer comes first before fame & fortune & the celeb staus,  Beckham reminds me of The Rock in is image, stage presence, which is why , Beckham is not a sports star & if i'm wrong follow JRsBBQ on twitter & think of the English FC (football club)

The way us brits see american wrestling is appalling,-

Sky Sports, who show WWE programming on UK TV, have been criticized by OfCom (UK TV independant TV regulator) for showing "scenes of violence" such as a "bare knuckle fight"."A complainant alerted Ofcom to content in a pre-recorded sequence featuring English WWE wrestler Wade Barrett, aired on Sky1 on November 10, 2012 at 9.20am." writes DigitalSpy.com
"Lasting around one and a half minutes, the package included several close-up shots of punches and kicks to the head and chest in slow motion, with one competitor getting a bloody bruise on their chest.""After being contacted by Ofcom, UK WWE broadcaster Sky said that the sequence was intended to portray Barrett "as a dark and dangerous character".

to quote The Miz, really? REALLY??

This is pro wrestling we're tallking about!!! things are bound to happen, Wade's a bare knuckle fighter! what do these ppl expect when watching a show like this? and it was old school, old school Raw - old school Barrett, INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING TO DAMN OFCOM, TURN TO ANOTHER DAMN CHANNEL!!!!!!!
Unbelievable!!! we've lost the passion that was once fueled by Big Daddy & Giant Haystacks.

Last thing....

RIP Paul Bearer, you've been on of the greatest, X

For many reasons, it's a sad time for wrestling & sports alike
